Client Reporting

• Client Reports are the next step in NaviPlan reporting. These reports feature a number of improvements to the older legacy reporting structure:
  • New, modern, design
  • Increased control over the pages included in your report
  • Improved user interface controls allowing you to preview pages, get summary information, and easily modify the order in which pages appear

• In order to understand Client Reporting, it is important to understand a few terms:
  • Report page: A report page is a single topic. Each tile on the Build Report tab adds report pages to your report.
  • Report: A report is a collection of report pages. After you have added each of the report pages you wish to present to your clients on the Build Report tab, the generated output is called a report.
  • Template: A template is a report that has been saved for multiple uses. By saving reports as a template you can present the same set of exhibits to all of your clients increasing ease-of-use and ensuring consistency.

• NaviPlan saves your work automatically! Each time you make changes or navigate away from the Client Reporting category NaviPlan will save the status of your template.

• This button allows you to filter which goals you wish to include in Client Reports.
• Any Major Purchase or Education goals included on this page will become reportable. Within those categories, use the Select a goal drop down to select reports specific to the included goal.

1. From the Select Report page, select either Start a New Report or Start a New Template as desired.
2. Add report pages to your report or template.
   • Use the Select a category menu to review a list of report pages for the selected category.
   • Select Add for each report page you wish to include in your report or template.
   • For Education and Major Purchase goals, use the Select Plan Data for Reports button or the Goal Selection menu to filter which individual Education and Major Purchase goals to add to your report page queue.
3. Use Add Section to create custom-named sections in your report. Organize your content by dragging pages inside of sections. Each section will produce a section cover page in your report output.
4. Re-order the report pages in the Selected Pages panel.
   • Report pages will appear in the same order as they appear on the Selected Pages panel.
   • To modify the position of a page, drag-and-drop items in the Selected Pages panel to a new position.
   • Collapse and expand sections to assist with re-ordering your pages.
5. When you are satisfied with these options, select Build Report.

1. Find the template you want to edit on the Select Report page.
2. Select Edit from the More menu.

Any generated Client report or template can converted by following these steps:

1. From the Build Report tab, select the pages to include in the report.
2. After selecting all the pages to include, click Build Report.
3. Once the report is generated, a blue bar appears near the top of the page. In this bar, select Convert to DocX to open the report in Word format.

1. From the Select Report page, select Start a New Report.
2. Select Supplementary Pages from the Select a Category menu.
3. Select the Custom Content tile from the Custom section.
4. Select Choose File and indicate the custom file you wish to add to your report.
5. When you are satisfied with these options, click OK.
6. Your custom content has now been added to your Client report.
• Any custom content stored in your User Preferences - Content Settings will appear at the bottom of each Client category in the My Custom PDFs section.

• You can view the report page tiles in summary view. To switch views, use these buttons from the View section.

• Use these links to select all report pages included in the Selected Pages panel and remove them.
