What is the purpose of rebalancing options?
- Use the options under Current Portfolio Setting to match the balancing method used for asset mix growth in NaviPlan to purchased portfolios.
- Current - Rebalanced: If selected, NaviPlan assumes the accounts are regularly rebalanced to maintain their allocation and applies the weighted average rate of return to accounts that are linked to goals.
- Current - Not Rebalanced: If selected, NaviPlan assumes the portfolio is never rebalanced and the weighted average return fluctuates as the allocation adjusts as per market conditions..
- There are two places in NaviPlan in which you can change rebalancing options.
- The rebalancing option selected on the - Plan Settings dialog box – Current Portfolio Setting tab affect all new plans you create.
- The rebalancing option selected on the Plan Management section – Assumptions category – Current Portfolio Setting page override the user preferences and only affect the plan you currently have open.
